PROGRAMME VIA FLAMINIA 2008

After the success of three previous Via Flaminia Tours it was only logical to organise another event for 2008.

As in the first two editions the Tour will be starting in Verona and do some 1500 to 1600 km (depending on the class) over the Apennines into Tuscany and Umbria and back to Verona. This time the start will not be at the train station but at the Righini car collection.

The train will be leaving Düsseldorf on Friday May 23rd in the afternoon and be back on Sunday June 1st in the morning.

The formula for success remains much the same as for the previous Tours. Some thirty classic cars will participate in a friendly event. The Tour class is for those who have little or no navigation skill. The Sport class is for the experienced rally driver liking the challenge of finding the correct road as indicated on the map.

The Tour class will cover a maximum of 250 km a day mainly over secondary roads. The Via Flaminia Tour is not about speed, this in order to give everybody a chance to enjoy the scenery and in order to prevent excessive speeding.

The Sport class will be getting more challenging roads, some unpaved, and situations, which are harder to find.

The accommodation is included as well as most meals. In order to make it affordable for most people, accommodation will be in three and four star hotels.

For details on the Tour, please have a look at the section Rally Route.
